Biography

An Indian film actress in south Indian movies. She acted in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films in 1970 and 1980s. She was well noted for her glamorous roles and item songs in the movies.

She has acted in more than 300 movies. She entered the films through a song when she was just a 5 year old. Her family was involved with movies and it made it easy for her to eventually get into films. She has acted in comedy, supporting roles and mostly in dances in songs.

Education: She had studied up to 6th-7th standard.

Her parents had 8 children (five daughters, 2 sons), Jyothilakshmi was the eldest & sister Jayamalini was the youngest of them all. Jayamalini became a sensation herself later in life.

Movie Debut: Jyothi Lakshmi made her debut in 1963 with "Periya Idathu Penn" which had M.G. Ramachandran & Saroja Devi in the cast.

Marriage: Jyothi Lakshmi was married to Sai Prasad, a cameraman in the industry. It was a love marriage. Jyothilakshmi & Sai Prasad have a daughter named Jyothimeena, she is an actress & dancer too. Her daughter is married to a doctor & has a son.

Jyothilakshmi acted in Tamil TV serials later in her life. "Valli" was one of her recent TV serials.
