Yagna Shetty is a South Indian actress who has predominantly acted in Kannada films. Despite her gorgeous face, she has often chosen acting oriented roles and has been a critic appreciated actress.

Childhood, Family & Personal Life

Yagna Shetty was born to H B Umesh Shetty (Father) & Jayanti Shetty (Mother), into the Tulu speaking family in Kudremukh, Karnataka. Her father is an electrical engineer by profession who worked at Kuduremukh Iron Ore industry and later moved to Kuwait.

Yagna has three sisters: Mahalakshmi Shetty & Gayathri Shetty are her elders and Ashwini Shetty younger to her.

Film Career

Yagna made her debut through Ondu Preethiya Kathe(2007) , A 2007 Kannada Drama, Romance movie on Naxalism by K Rajashekhar Rao starring Shankar Aryan, Narayana Swamy.

Her next movie Eddelu Manjunatha(2009) brought her the fame, she won a Filmfare Award for her role in the movie.

Varasadaara , a TV serial under Sudeep's production marked Yagna's TV debut, she is the lead actress in the serial and the face in the posters. The serial deals with female foeticide, she plays the role of the mother. It is being directed by Gadda Viji, it will be aired on Zee Kannada Channel.
