Namitha is a former Miss Surat(1998), Miss India 2001 pageant participant who acts in South Indian movies, She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam & Hindi movies.

She is a tall, curvaceous actress standing tall at 6 foot 2 inches.

Namitha was born as Namitha Mukesh Vankawala on Sunday, 10 May 1981 in Surat, Gujarat to Mukesh Vankawala (Father). She comes from a Punjabi speaking Kapoor family raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Her father is a textile businessman (Raymonds Showroom), her mother is a homemaker. 

Education: She is a graduate (B.A) in English Literature from Rathnam Arts College, Surat, Gujarat.

Movie Career

Namitha was the winner of Miss Surat competition 1998, after that she participated in the Miss India pageant 2001 & came out as the fourth runner-up. This brought her to the limelight.

Her popularity got her the chance to appear in Ads & Commercials like:  Manikchand Gutka, Nile herbal shampoo, Himani cream & soap, Arun Ice Creams.

Debut: Gemini, a 2002 Telugu film directed by Saran starring Venkatesh marked the beginning of Namitha's career in films.

Sontham(2002), a Telugu comedy movie released in the same year directed by Srinu Vaitla, with Aryan Rajesh & Suni in the lead was her first film to be released in the theatres.

Tamil Debut: Aai(2004), a Tamil film starring Sarath Kumar, Namitha, Vadivelu directed by A. Venkatesh is her first Tamil film.

Bollywood Debut: Love Ke Chakkar Mein(2006) became her first Bollywood movie, it was a comedy directed by B. H. Tharun Kumar.

Kannada Debut: Neelakanta, a 2006 Kannada language romantic drama directed by Om Sai Prakash became her first Kannada film. The film stars V. Ravichandran, Namitha & Sridevika.

Malayalam Debut: Black Stallion, a 2010 Malayalam film directed by Pramod Pappan. starring Kalabhavan Mani, Bala and Namitha was Namitha's first Malayalam movie.
