Sathyaraj had 2 younger daughters, Kalpana Mandradiar and Roopa Senapathy, Roopa Senapathy is married to Dr. Periannan Senapathy. In 1976 Sathyaraj left home to become an actor, He joined the drama troupe of Komal Swamynathan. Movie Debut: Sattam En Kaiyil(1978) a Tamil film directed by T. N. Balu with Kamal Haasan, Sripriya. As a production Manager: Satyaraj worked as a production manager for few movies including Kannan Oru Kaikkuzhanthai, in which he would also act in small roles.
