Shweta Mohan was born on Tuesday, 19th November 1985 to Dr. Krishna Mohan(Father) & Sujatha Mohan(Mother) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her mother is a popular singer who has sung more than 4000 songs, her father is a pediatrician & said to be a good singer for a pediatrician.

Shewta married her long time boyfriend Ashwin Shashi on 16 January 2011 Eight years after they met. Ashwin is brother of her friend Aarathi, through whom the couple met.

She learned Carnatic music from Binni Krishnakumar & Hindustani from Ghulam Niyaz Khan.

Movie Debut: By the People(2005), a Malayalam movie was her first movie, also the one which got her the break she needed, she sang in 7 songs of the movie. Pravin Mani was the music composer of the movie.
