Biography

Sandhya Winfred is a air Rifle shooter, she was a junior shooting champion and now is a part of Indian senior shooting team. she is funded by "Go Sports Foundation".

Sandhya is the daughter of former shooter Mahalakshmi. Her mother Mahalakshmi is a homeopathic doctor and often trains her daughter herself. Mahalakshmi still continues to be the State champion in shooting.

During the Nationals in Pune she won Gold & Bronze with her state team mates Gayathri & Abhirami. Sandhya had to miss the individual category finals as her rifle got locked and it had to be sent to Germany for fixing.

  • PUC: She studied at MOP Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai.

Sandhya was listed in "Chennai Times" among Chennai's 25 Most Desirable Women in 2016.
