Story SummaryDemon Bhasmasur after an austere penance to please Lord Shiva, gets a boon where he could burn anyone to cinders just by placing his hand on the other's head. The demon tries to destroy Lord Shiva himself. Lord Vishnu, then assumes Mohini avatar ;bewitches the demon and has him slayed.

  2. Kamala who was a stage actress performed the first dance number in the role of a heroine in Indian cinema. In the dance item, she played the role of Mohini enticing Bhasmasura.
  3. Mohini Bhasmasura same name a Telugu Movie released in 1966.
  4. The scene where Bhasmasur keeps his hand on his head and reduces to ashes, Phalke shot with the actor and then retracted the film and shot some spoilt film being burnt in the actor's position, giving the effect of Bhasmasur burning.
